How do I play?

Start by creating a league and inviting 7 friends to join as team managers. Once all spots are filled, you'll enter the draft room where the excitement begins! The draft uses a "snake" format (if you pick first in round one, you'll pick last in round two) with each manager selecting 15 players to build their roster. Strategy is key - choose wisely! After drafting, visit "My Team > Roster" to set your starting lineup before the first kickoff each weekend. Remember, once a player's match begins, their position is locked for the week. Check the "Matchups" page to see your weekly opponent. Your players earn points based on their real-life NWSL performance according to our scoring system. The manager with the most points at weekend's end wins the matchup! The regular season determines playoff qualification based on your win-loss-tie record. In case of ties, total points scored throughout the season serves as the tiebreaker. Make the top 4, and you'll advance to the playoffs where it's win-or-go-home until a champion is crowned!

How do I create a league?

After creating your account and verifying your email, you'll be prompted to create your first league. Want to manage multiple leagues? No problem! Just navigate to the League menu and click "Create." When setting up your league, you'll need to schedule a draft date, so have your calendar handy. Once your draft date arrives and all 8 team manager slots are filled, the draft room tab will become available, allowing everyone to make their player selections. As the creator of the league, you'll automatically become the commissioner with special management privileges.

How do I join a league?

After creating and verifying your account, you'll be prompted to join your first league. Simply enter the league token provided by your commissioner (they can find this in the league settings page). Want to play in multiple leagues? It's easy! Just click the dropdown menu under your name and select "Join League." This will take you to League Settings where you can enter another league token to join additional leagues.

What equipment do I need to play?

No iOS or Android restrictions here! We recommend using the Chrome browser on a laptop. You can use a mobile device if you need, but it's not fully optimized for that screen size.

Other browsers are not recommended at this time, but we're working on fixes to make it available in the future.

How long does the 2025 fantasy season last?

The 2025 fantasy season runs for 22 regular season weeks, starting Friday, March 14th (NWSL week 1) and ending Sunday, September 28th (NWSL week 22). Fantasy playoffs take place over the following two weeks: Friday, October 3rd (NWSL week 23) through Sunday, October 12th (NWSL week 24).

How do I draft?

There's no autodraft in our system! Be prepared to dedicate at least 90 minutes for our live draft experience where all managers select their players in real-time. The commissioner sets the draft date/time when creating the league, unlocking the draft room for all participants. On draft day, you'll see the picking order on the left side. When it's your turn in the spotlight, just click the + sign next to available players to claim them for your roster (which fills up on the right). Desktop works best for drafting. No countdown timers here - your league can set its own pace, whether that's rapid-fire picks or a leisurely selection process.

What players should I pick?

Each roster has 15 spots total. To field a valid starting lineup, you'll need 1 GK, 4 DEF, 3 MF, and 3 FWDS. We recommend drafting at least these 11 players plus 4 additional players of any position for your bench. Heads up - the draft room won't prevent you from over-selecting a position, so keep track of your picks! To help with your decisions, check out the Fantasy Points column showing total points from the 2024 season, our Hera Ranking, and last year's week-over-week performance graph to gauge consistency. Remember that rookies and transfers won't have stats yet but could be valuable additions - doing some pre-draft research will give you an edge!

Are there players that are injured, retired or in a foreign league in the draft player pool?

Our player pool includes anyone who has played since 2021 including unsigned free agents. We manually remove injured, retired, or internationally transferred players, but some might slip through our updates. If you spot any outdated players in the pool, please email us so we can correct it!

How does scoring work?

Depending on the player's position, they'll score points for each action they do on the field. We currently use an API to receive live updates so check your matchups page during the game to see it happen in real time! Keep in mind players get locked once their kickoff time has passed for that match, so you'll still have a chance to bench an injured player up until the last moment.

After the end of all the games for the weekend, the totals for each team manager's roster will be scored and a win/loss record will be added.

How do I add or drop players from my roster during the season?

You can add free agents to your roster through the Players tab (also known as the waiver wire in fantasy sports). When adding a player, you'll need to drop someone from your current roster to maintain the roster limit.

The timing of when players become available depends on the match schedule:

The system ensures fair access to players while preventing managers from making last-minute additions after seeing real-world game performance.

What is the waiver process and how does it work?

The waiver wire provides a fair system for team managers to add free agents throughout the season after the initial draft. Here's how it works: After weekend matches are scored, managers can select free agents they want to add to their team. When multiple managers want the same player, claims are prioritized by waiver order, which is determined by reverse league standings (teams lower in the standings get priority). All waiver claims are processed at midnight on the Tuesday before the first game of the weekend. This means you can place bids all day Monday and Tuesday after standings update, and you'll see which players you successfully claimed on Wednesday morning. Example: Andrea's team is first in the league while Rachel's team is in last place. Both add Ally Watt and Sam Staab (in that order) to their waiver claims. After processing, Rachel gets Ally Watt because she had first pick in the first round of waiver claims (due to being last in standings). Andrea gets Sam Staab because she had first pick in the second round of waiver claims.

* Waivers will pause during break weeks and resume the Tuesday before the next matchup.

Can I trade with other managers directly?

Yes! Here's how:

Once approved by the other manager, the entire league will be notified via email about the pending trade. League members then have three days to review the trade on the league standings page. Important: The veto system is designed to prevent collusion, not to block trades out of spite or to prevent strong teams from improving. A trade will only be vetoed if 75% of the league (6 out of 8 managers) vote against it. If fewer than 6 managers vote to veto, the trade proceeds and players will be transferred to their new rosters. NWSL Schedule Weirdness

Due to the wonkiness of the broadcasting schedule, some teams will play twice in a weekend and none other weekends. Unfortunately, this means players on that team will get scored for that specific weekend twice. This could be advantageous or not depending on who you pick up during the waiver claim!

Who do I reach out to if I encounter a bug or need help?

Reach out to your commissioner first but if there’s anything blocking you can email [email protected] with a detailed description of your issue and any relevant screenshots.
